FRCNA 39 - COVID-19 May Update
We completely understand how our entire fellowship has been impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) and may continue facing significant hardship. Our main goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of our fellowship (attendees) according to current COVID-19 CDC, Federal, State, Local Municipalities and the venue’s guidelines, while fulfilling our contract with the venue and preserving our long- standing relationships with our business partners. The unpredictability of the spread of this virus has not altered our focus on continuing to serve our fellowship and we are confident in BOD members and Volunteers ability to continue to deliver the level of service you deserve and have come to know as a valued FRCNA attendee (NA member).
It goes without saying, the spread of COVID-19 has had a severe impact on all our lives. However, many local businesses, including FRC, Inc., have found incredible ways to adapt to these changing times. We have NOT postponed or cancelled the convention. WE (Florida Regional Convention) continue to move forward with planning for FRCNA 39 in July at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando, Florida.
From the Rosen Hotels & Resorts COVID-19 Response Plan:
New procedures will be implemented at all eight properties and feature enhanced processes such as the cleaning of guest-centric public and “back-of the-house” private areas with quick-acting hydrogen peroxide-based disinfectants considered effective by the CDC. Additional new hotel processes include, but are not limited to:
Adjusting to ensure social distancing between associates and guests and to limit cross-contact of common items. This includes putting in place space capacity limits, furniture rearrangements, queuing floor decals and other procedures to promote social distancing among guests.
Posting the CDC’s guidelines on hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes as reminders to guests and associates, while increasing the number of hand sanitizer dispensers that are available and easily accessible throughout the hotels.
Placing clear protective barriers at the front desk to separate guests and front desk associates.
Using hospital-grade disinfectants designed to kill viruses when thoroughly sanitizing each guestroom with electrostatic sprayers and to ensure touch points and commonly handled items throughout the hotels and guestrooms are more frequently disinfected throughout the day. Rooms remain dormant for 24 hours after cleaning before welcoming our next guests.
Bed and bath linens are cleaned at the company-owned, computer-controlled and monitored on-site laundry facility in water temperatures hot enough to kill viruses. The laundering process also uses steam which further disinfects linens while virus-eliminating detergents are used. Carts transporting linens from the company’s laundry facility to each hotel are sanitized with fast-acting disinfectants.
Screening associates to include temperature checks before each shift. All ill associates will be instructed to remain at home. Associates also have been trained and are frequently reminded on how to assess for symptoms and how to notify management for assistance and guidance. For more information visit RosenCare.com
We take the health and safety of our members and partners, very seriously. We are developing and will be implementing solutions for the convention as we continue to serve you while following social distancing mandates and minimize risk of transmission to ensure that our members and partners are safe and well taken care of. FRCNA 39 will be the very first event to be held in the Rosen Shingle Creek convention center when they re-open July 1, 2020.
FRC, Inc.’s COVID-19 Response Plan:
Implementing mandated screening (temperature checks) of all FRC BOD members and Volunteers as well as face coverings. Screening at the start and change of shifts and close of day. Any screened member that has a temperature of 100.4 degrees or greater will not be able to enter the convention or participate and it will be requested that the individual see a doctor, per CDC guidelines.
Limiting capacity and following social distancing guidelines throughout the convention area, including but not limited to workshop meetings space, ballroom area for main speaker meetings, hospitality, merchandise, outside vendors and registration.
Offering cashless payments and “no touch” policies where possible
Cleaning hard surfaces between workshops, main speaker meetings, hospitality area, merchandise, registration, etc. to limit cross-contact in these areas.
Serenity Keeper vests will be sanitized between each use.

Face coverings (masks) and hand sanitizer will be included in every Registration packet.
Due to the evolving nature of this dynamic situation, details are subject to change without notice.
